For those of you who are considering restoration, take a look at what our friend Carol did to the mansion she bought in Maryland. After all her hard work and "sweat equity," the Spencer Silver Mansion has become one of the most sought after and beautiful places to stay in Havre de Grace.

The "Iris Room" is our personal favorite. The ceiling border treatment here was pulled from an antique wallpaper originally created by William Morris; Morris was a founder of the English Arts & Crafts Movement, and Queen Victoria herself used his talents when decorating Kensington Palace.

Carol added a ceiling border above the iris paper to draw the eye upwards, and continued the borders into the bathroom to create a sense on continuity. The room is warm and relaxing, and the jacuzzi bathtub she installed helps as well....
